On Friday I became aware of an underlying fear!

A fear which was dictating my behaviour.
A fear which was preventing me doing something.
A fear which was creating stress.

On Friday I became aware of my underlying fear of silence.

Here’s what happened.

Every day I go for a walk.

I always listen to a podcast or audiobook.

I have been telling myself it’s a good use of my time.

But recently, a little voice from way deep down has been trying to be heard.

The voice said,

‘Maybe you might benefit from walking in silence’.
‘Maybe your head needs some space’
‘Maybe the next idea you need can’t be heard.’

I heard that voice and ignored it for months!

But the voice kept on calling.

Quietly but determinedly like the voice of wisdom does.

So on Friday morning I decided to walk in silence.

You would not believe how much it took to do that.

I felt jittery.
I felt fear.
There was a sense I might cry.

(In fact, I went live on Instagram after the walk and did cry)

Perhaps it seems silly.

I mean how hard can it be to not put your headphones in and walk out the door.

But it’s not about the thing is it.

I mean we all have things that are practically easy that we are not doing.

Turning up on live videos.
Showing up authentically on social media.
Doing the things we have promised ourselves.

We all have a thing we are not doing which is getting in the way of us living in our power.

But something magical happens when we do the thing.

Some part of our old, conditioned thinking falls away.

A little more of who we really are is revealed.

All this gets easier once you realise that the icky feelings are not letting you know about what you are about to do.

The icky feelings are letting you know that you have icky thinking about what you are about to do.

Underneath your thinking – which knows nothing about what you are capable of – is the ability to do pretty much everything.

The silence was good.

So many wonderful things emerged.

New ideas to help me help you access more calm, clarity and contentment.

Watch this space as they are revealed.
